Population: The presentation is geared towards an entry-level to mid-level understanding of these tools by teachers and administrators.
Outcomes:
Employ best practices for the use of Edline.
Categorize and correctly place assignments, calendar items, news, links and contents on Edline pages.
Construct an Edline page that is standard to all faculty and clearly read by students and parents.
Evaluate assignments for correct correlation to Quality Core Standards, State Standards, and other national or local standards based on subject area.
Assess students using the traditional letter grade and the skill area grading housed in GradeQuick.
Gap: The existing staff has already been trained on the basics of GradeQuick and Edline. They understand the use of the tools for parent/student communication, grade keeping, skill tracking, attendance, etc. The existing staff does need to refine their use and standardize placement of materials on their Edline web pages and refine the entry of grades and skills. The skills area is a new section that will be the most intense. Most teachers have seen reports where this has been completed from standardized tests, but will need to understand how to evaluate their own assignments for correlation and then tie them together in the gradebook to produce reports based on class assignments as well.
Agenda:
Each of the segments below is arranged as a self-tutorial. New users will find that moving through all the segments will afford them a complete training. Current users will find that they may need a refresher on certain areas if their site is not up to par and can find training resources that will allow them to bring their site up to standards.
